Kate holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws and a Bachelor of Laws, both from The University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining the CPA profession, she completed her traineeship in a law firm specialising in litigation and conveyancing. Kate has more than 10 years of experience in the areas of personal bankruptcy, receivership, corporate insolvency and debt restructurings engagements across a wide range of industries such as construction, catering and manufacturing, jewellery trading and commodities trading platform which has assets in Hong Kong, China and overseas.
Kate has extensive experience in handling bankruptcy cases which involves celebrities in Hong Kong including investigating the funds movement of the Bankrupts and conducting fund flow analysis, and secure control of the Bankrupts’ investment holding companies. Kate was also involved in various receivership cases, both debenture-holder and court appointed. She participated in a receivership case of a company listed in the main board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange to secure and preserve assets of the company, investigate significant potential irregularities perpetrated by former directors and officers which include fictitious and undisclosed related party trading activities, misappropriation of funds and assets, false accounting and breaches of the Hong Kong Listing Rules.
Kate is also experienced in handling a wide range of forensic assignments including appointment by a listed company for retrieval and analysis of its accounting records and appointment by the Securities and Futures Commission to investigate the conduct of securities brokers.
